Emma & Kevin's glorious Marquee wedding

A beautiful day emerged after a rainy few. Emma & Kevin held their wedding reception in a beautiful and very luxurious marquee in one of their gardens. It was the most impressive marquee I've seen this year, with glorious height and plenty of space for everyone to relax and mingle. The bar was at the rear, with the dance floor at the front.
So the flowers had to compliment...
Emma came for her consultations with her lovely mum, they were both a delight to deal with and the flowers played an important part.
Emma's dress was full lace with a champagne satin underlay, Emma wanted to bring out the champagne tone rather than a typical ivory. We opted for pure white flowers with warm champagne Vendella Roses to tone with the dress. We also used Lily of the Valley and Stephanotis, both gave incredible scent.
The flower girl carried a pomander of blue, yellow and white flowers, for a very fun and natural look. We used Regan (daisy) Chrysanthemums, Craspedia and Eryngium.
In the marquee we wanted to make a statement with huge flower balls hanging from the ceiling of the marquee...thank you to all the lovely chaps who helped pulley them up!
For the tables, we looked at various options but Emma was keen to keep it very natural looking, I bought in new candlesticks made of carved wood. They gave a beautiful old fashioned feel, impressive without being  too ott. These alternated with low stone containers, with a loose display of garden style flowers.
Top table was very different to the other tables, Emma's mum had a collection of old bottles that had been found in the grounds of her home, truly vintage! We filled them with stems of various flowers - Agapanthus, Craspedia, Chrysanthemum, Panicum, Freesia, Eryngium, Roses and Wax Flower.

I loved working on this wedding, the colours, the style and the people - it all worked perfectly.

Huge thanks to Rory Lindsay, who supplied these beautiful images.
I have added a few of my own, just to show the top table flowers close up. You can really tell which are mine! I'll stick to flowers...

Thank you.

Claire & Charlie's big day at Beechwood Park

What a glorious day it was for Claire and Charlie, a beautiful Church wedding, married by Charlie's father (the Vicar) and followed by a reception at gorgeous Beechwood Park.

Claire wanted to replicate her grandmother's bouquet, which was an overarm style using large Arum Lilies. To bring this up to date and make it easier for Claire to carry, we opted for smaller Calla Lilies and I designed it so the Lilies were still an elongated style but made so that it could be carried as an upright, posy bouquet. We added lots of soft wispy foliages to give a vintage feel, using Panicum, Thlaspi Green Bell and Asparagus Fern.
The buttonhole for Charlie was also a Calla Lily, the other gents wore a Rose.
The bridesmaids carried posies of Roses with foliages and Astilbe.

We decorated the Church with an archway of cream and soft pink flowers, this was placed above the wooden arch frame where Claire and Charlie stood to be married.

At Beechwood, the table centres boasted tall antique ivory candelabras, with dripping crystals and tall taper candles. At the base, a ring of flowers comprising of Roses, Dahlias, Astilbe and foliages, with Calla Lilies swirled across the ring.
Vintage pots, jars and crockery decorated the long top table, sat on a runner of glass mirror plates, for reflection and a touch of opulence.

The day went perfectly, with thanks to Anna of Bride & Glory Wedding Planning & Coordination

With huge thanks to Kate Hopewell-Smith for the stunning images.

A Summer wedding at beautiful Stowe

I work closely with a dear friend in the wedding industry, to create beautiful wedding shoots. This particular shoot was a photography training day, my friend Kate is the trainer and a superb photographer. She asked me to supply flowers for the shoot and that they theme was a little boho chic, quite natural and informal. I decided to make a simple headdress using Ivy on it's natural vine with tiny Hydrangea heads secured to the leaves, with clusters of Gypsophelia for a light airy feel. The bouquet was made up of Hydrangea, Dahlia, Astilbe, Lysimachia, Poppy seed heads, Brunia and all kinds of lovely things. The buttonhole was a Dahlia on natural stem, with foliages to finish and tied with natural twine.
Here are a few images from this beautiful shoot, the bride and groom are a genuine couple and married earlier this year.
Lucky for them, this was the result of the training day...

With thanks to Kate Hopewell-Smith for the stunning images and thanks to Ann of Ann's Bridal Room for the use of the beautiful wedding dress. Make-up by Cat from Make-up For Brides
