Nichola & Rich, Notley Abbey Romance

A gorgeous day for Nichola and Richard, back in April.
The colour of the day was purple but to keep things light and airy, the main flowers were ivory, with hints of purple to tie in the theme.
The heart on the main door was one of the things Nichola had her heart set on (excuse the pun) and rightly so, as it really did get noticed as the guests arrived.
The table centres complimented the beautiful barn at Notley and gave interest across the room.

Thank you to Mike Garrard photography for the beautiful images!

Nichola's bouquet was made up of Anemones, Ranunculus, Tulips, Gelder Rose and purple Eustoma.
The bridesmaids carried posies of white Tulips for a perfect contrast against the bright dresses.

Enjoy.

Wedding shoots with Aspire Photography Training and Kate Hopewell-Smith

Blogging seems to have taken a backseat recently, but rest assured I'll be back with some fabulous pics of weddings on the next few months.

But just to share a little something...here are some images from recent shoots I've been involved in.

Kate Hopewell-Smith is, in mine and many others opinion, just about as good as it gets, when it comes to photography.
I was lucky enough to meet Kate when I was in the early stages of planning our wedding, I promptly booked her, pretty much the day after we met, as I was completely blown away by her work.
Kate also trains photographers for Aspire Photography Training and I supply the flowers for the wedding shoots. I love being able to create something a little different, especially when it comes to buttonholes.

Here are a few images from shoots over the past year...

Enjoy...

Louise & David's Sunflower Spectacular at Ashridge House

Louise and David asked me to be there florist and broke the news that they were to wed at the stunning Ashridge House. I was over the moon as Ashridge is a firm favourite of mine, not many venues take my breath away quite like Ashridge.

They opted for a theme of Sunflowers, the bridesmaids wore lilac dresses, so to bring this into the flowers we subtly added clusters of Lavender to the bouquets.

The staircase was dressed for the ceremony and silver candelabras on the table centres were the feature for the reception dinner.

Enjoy...

Lucy & Dom's Polka Dot wedding at Eversholt Hall

When Lucy came to see me and told me her colour scheme was red, yellow, pink and blue, I felt a little faint! An brave choice for a bride, but Lucy had every confidence in her theme.
Polka Dots, tree bark vases and vintage bridesmaids...a superb mixture of elegance and fun.

Lucy's dress was fairytale to a T! An English Rose with a fresh, young outlook.

I hope you enjoy these pictures, I loved working on Lucy & Dom's wedding, Lucy's Dad was a star, he was hugely involved in all the organising of the day and came to see me several times to discuss the table decorations.
Simple clusters of garden style flowers, in the bright mix of colours to suit the theme of the wedding.

Lucy's bouquet was a loose, full shower bouquet with lashings on foliages.

A large Heart sat on an easel in the Church and was then moved to Eversholt Hall for the reception.

Three beautiful flower girls wore circlet headdresses which looked beautiful and really suited the theme of the day.

Anna-Marie & Andrew at Horwood House -Vintage pearls, Roses and Peonies

A glorious day at Horwood House for Anna and Andrew.
Anna opted for 1950's elegance and pearl detailing. The dress was from Xquisite Bridal and quite unusual, being sleeveless with a round neck, which suited her perfectly and set the 50's look.

Anna loved the simplicity of Roses, we mixed ivory with white Roses, to add texture, without the need of foliage, the roses were adorned with pearl centres and bound with ivory satin.
The gents wore an ivory Rose with large Galax leaves and Eucalyptus.

The table centres were tall Martini Vases, filled with pink and white Peonies, antique and soft pink Roses and white Hydrangea, and draped with pearls to finish.

The top table was decorated with bowls filled with ivory Roses and Fern to soften the look, draped with ivory pearls.

Anna also chose to hire Bay Trees, decorated with fresh Roses, these were either side of the aisle during the ceremony and then moved to either side of the top table for the wedding breakfast.
